A Toast to Hubs Virginia Peanuts…..A Spirited Finalist!

Hubs Virginia Peanuts have always been noteworthy as a high energy snack to serve with cocktails, but until Erika Caylor of the toney Terrapin Restaurant in Virginia Beach entered the Virginian Pilot’s 100th Taste Test, we would not have thought of Hubs peanuts as something to serve in the drink rather than with the drink.  Hubs Virginia Peanut Cocktail Exciting for us, a panel of nationally recognized judges selected the Hubs beverage as one of  five finalists out of 27 entries from the region to potentially be anointed as The Tidewater.   Alas, a drink mixed by our friend, Lauren Wilson,  from Harper’s Table was crowned the winner, and while we know that The Tidewater is surely a wonderful cocktail,  Erika’s Hubs Virginia Peanuts concoction, represented the best of an agricultural crop grown right here in Western Tidewater.  Cheers to all the worthy finalists!

    Peanuts are to me the same as chocolate is to a chocoholic. The first time I tasted Hubs was as a gift from a chemical salesman where I worked,without a doubt the best peanuts I ever tasted.
